Adrian Shahbaz
Adrian Shahbaz is the Director for Technology and Democracy at Freedom House. He sets the organization’s research and policy agenda on human rights in the digital age. He is a lead author on the annual Freedom on the Net report and founder of Election Watch, a data-driven initiative for the understanding the risk of censorship, disinformation, and violence ahead of national votes.
Adrian is a frequent commentator in the media, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, WIRED, Axios, Bloomberg, NPR, CNN, BBC, C-SPAN, Washington Post, Financial Times, and other outlets. Prior to joining Freedom House, he was a researcher at the UN Department of Political Affairs, European Parliament, and OSCE.
