An overview, followed by discussion, of the realities of nuclear weapons use and the contemporary state of affairs in regards to the reduction of global nuclear weapons. This breakout will be lead by Dr. Buba Misawa, who will be joined by two guests with special expertise in this important, but recently overlooked, area of global security. First, Ms. Eliana Johns, Research Associate for the Nuclear Information Project at the Federation of American Scientists and co-author of “the Nuclear Notebook” an authoritative estimate of global nuclear forces and trends. Second, Ms. Clara Sherwood, a 2022 graduate of W&J, who is a Pathways intern at the US Department of State, and currently serves as a graduate student at the Elliot School of International Affairs, George Washington University.
